Anaga Mountains
The Anaga Mountains captivate with deep ravines, lush ridges, and views of the blue Atlantic Ocean. This rugged massif is a paradise for hikers, but it is also possible to enjoy a beautiful circular drive: Start in Las Mercedes (exit from the highway San Cristobal de La Laguna) and head towards Mirador Cruz del Carmen, continuing towards El Bailadero. Just before reaching El Bailadero, consider a detour to Almáciga for a meal and a swim. Return on the same route to El Bailadero and then continue through San Andres, where the beach of Las Teresitas invites for another swim. Finally, proceed to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where you can rejoin the highway.
The Mercedes Forest, located just outside of Las Mercedes, is also known as the "Fairy Tale Forest," featuring laurel trees up to 25 meters high, adorned with ferns and lichens. It creates a magical atmosphere!
