For wheelchair users, vacations in Tenerife are often full of barriers. This is partly due to the narrow sidewalks – some with high curbs – and houses with entrance steps to protect against flooding. Our house also has two entrance steps to the ground-floor apartments.
In Garachico, the houses do not have heating or air conditioning because the temperatures remain within a comfortable range year-round. Our exterior walls and ceilings are insulated (which is unusual for Tenerife), keeping the heat out in summer and the “cold temperatures” out in winter. Additionally, we have mirrored our windows to prevent the rooms from heating up due to the sun.
Through our online booking system, you can pay directly by credit card or PayPal and will receive a booking confirmation with all further information.
If these payment methods do not work or if you prefer to pay via bank transfer, we will send you a preliminary reservation with our bank details. Upon timely receipt of the amount in our account, you will receive a payment receipt and booking confirmation.
The handling of bookings is managed by the team at our hotel ‘Kunstquartier’ in Nuremberg, Germany.”
All our apartments are equipped with fully functional kitchens and also have a coffee machine for espresso, café crema, or cappuccino. All other ingredients for your breakfast are available at the local supermarket, just 5 minutes from your accommodation. If you prefer to go out for breakfast, you will find creperies and Canarian cafes at the Plaza. Lovers of a classic café with cakes and pastries will be happy at the patisserie just 30 meters away.
For cancellations up to 14 days before the start of the rental period, we will refund the apartment price minus a 10% processing fee.
For cancellations less than 14 days before the start of the rental period, we will retain 80% of the apartment price.
Therefore, please consider taking out travel insurance.

The most convenient option is to choose a car rental directly at the airport (North or South).
Check-In from 2:00 PM: You will receive an access code and detailed instructions for your key safe.
Check-Out by 11:00 AM: Please empty the trash can (trash bins are located on the street) and return the key to the key safe upon departure.

- Route via the southern coast (with hairpin turns): TF1 to Santiago del Teide, then TF 82 to El Tanque, then TF 421 to Garachico
- Route via the northern coast (without hairpin turns): First TF1 towards Santa Cruz, then onto TF 2 towards La Laguna, then onto TF5 towards Puerto de la Cruz, then just before Icod de los Vinos onto TF42 to Garachico
Your four-legged friends are warmly welcomed at Villa ARTE! If you are traveling with a dog, you should be aware of certain customs and regulations to avoid fines:
- Dogs are only allowed on beaches that permit dogs
- In towns, dogs must always be kept on a leash
- If your dog urinates, you must rinse it with water (always carry a bottle of water with you!)
- Dog feces must always be picked up with a bag
- Dogs are usually not allowed in restaurants
In principle, the tap water in Garachico is of drinking water quality. To be absolutely sure, we have installed a filter with a drinking water tap in the kitchens. So, you do not need to buy bottled drinking water. Additionally, our house has a central decalcification system.

Children are always welcome in Tenerife, even late into the night! There are not many playgrounds, but children play at the beach and the Plaza or in the park, where people are very tolerant. The highlights are, of course, the amusement parks (SIAM Park, LORO Park, Monkey Park, Jungle Park).
All apartments are furnished with custom-made furniture from a carpenter – high quality, visually appealing, and sustainable.
In southern countries – including Tenerife – ants, termites, and cockroaches feel particularly comfortable. If you encounter insects, it is not a sign of poor cleanliness; they are simply more common here.
The city council of Garachico and we, as homeowners, do a lot with a large package of preventive and acute measures to ensure that we don’t have these “guests” in our apartments.
We are grateful if you also help to prevent the introduction and spread of insects:
- Please store food in sealed containers and in the refrigerator.
- Keep the apartment kitchen clean (for example, avoid bread crumbs on the floor).
- Dispose of your garbage frequently.
If you discover a cockroach despite all precautions: Among the cleaning supplies in the kitchen, you will find a spray that you can apply directly to the insect, which will then die. Do not crush cockroaches, as their tiny eggs may be released and spread everywhere.
Please inform us if you notice cockroaches, termites, or ants in the apartment.
Definitely only at the Heladería Artesanal Italiana La Fragola, which has been awarded the twelfth best ice cream shop in all of Spain! You just have to walk through the small alley towards the sea and then turn right.
We have a fiber optic connection with a transmission speed of 900 Mbits. The access code for free Wi-Fi can be found in your room.
Each apartment has an ironing board and iron.
In Icod de los Vinos, there are two laundromats and a laundry service:

Except for the “Estudio verde,” all apartments have their own balcony or patio. In addition, all guests have access to our rooftop sun terrace with a stunning view of the old town and the sea. Here you will find 4 sun loungers, seating areas, and a shower for cooling off.
We recommend parking at the old football field, which has been converted into a large parking lot and is free of charge. However, occasional events or maintenance work might take place there, in which case no-parking signs will be put up two days in advance. If you don’t move your car, it will be towed!
Garachico has two pharmacies:
- Farmacia Acevedo at Plaza Juan Gonzales
- Farmacia Francisco Angulo Hernández in Calle Rolo de Armas
The bus is the number one mode of transportation for both locals and tourists in Tenerife. Although rental cars are also affordable on the island, buses run almost around the clock and reach nearly every destination. TITSA is the operator of the train and bus network in Tenerife:
Within walking distance of Villa ARTE, you will find many different restaurants of various price ranges and tastes. It will be hard to try them all during your stay!

In the parallel street “Calle Francisco Martinez de Fuentes,” you’ll find the small “Supermercado Garachico.” In the neighboring town of Icod de los Vinos, there is the shopping center “Centro Comercial La Magalona” as well as a Lidl store. For a wider selection, visit the “Centro Comercial La Villa” in Orotava (Exit 36 from the TF-5 motorway).
Even if you are traveling alone, you will always sleep in a double bed. All beds are equipped with comfortable cold foam mattresses that provide excellent stability while adapting to your body shape and sleeping position.
We are a non-smoking house. Please respect the no-smoking policy throughout the entire house.

Each apartment has a flat-screen TV with internet, satellite TV, and terrestrial reception.
Residual waste is disposed of in public garbage bins of the city almost daily. These bins are located on public streets and squares (the nearest bin to Villa Arte is about 30 meters from the building, on the TF 42). Locals often dispose of almost everything in these bins, as waste separation is not widely practiced. For those who wish to separate their waste, there are three designated containers for glass, paper, and metal/plastic at the port and the large parking area. We have provided corresponding bins for waste separation in the kitchens.
