Teno Rural Park
The rural park around the Teno massif is smaller than the Teide National Park and thus somewhat off the beaten path, but it offers a 100 km network of hiking trails through pine and laurel forests. The area remains largely unspoiled and the local population is largely self-sufficient through agriculture. The park also includes Cape Punta de Teno and the mountain village of Masca.
A recommended hike is from Las Portelas to the Monte del Agua rainforest, a verdant wonderland often shrouded in mystical mist.
